This elegant ring features continuous interlacing knotwork. The intertwining patterns were prominent in Irish and British art in the 6th and 7th centuries. In this particular design two lines intertwine to represent unity and continuity. This design is based on a stone carving found on the island of Westray in far Northern Scotland.
